On searching the worldwide web could not find any websites that could provide comprehensive and easily accessible information regarding amenities etc. in and around the urbanisation of Riviera del Sol. So we decided to publish a site for the visitor to this lovely part of the Costa del Sol, Spain which will provide, hopefully, some useful information to make their stay a happy one.

We have recently purchased an apartment in the Altos de Riviera complex, Riviera del Sol, Costa del Sol, Spain, which should have been ready in March/April 2004, but Aifos, the developer, do not seem to be in a hurry to finish off the development ( you have been warned if you are purchasing a property off this particular developer - Aifos!! They are poor to deal with). Since mentioning how pathetic Aifos have been we have had quite a few emails from people with similar experiences and, therefore, have decided to publish a page where you can leave comments about Aifos or any other developer, be it good or bad.                                                                                                  Click on the following link: Experiences Noticeboard

We have had many, many emails asking us which furniture stores to visit, on the Costa del Sol, to organise a "furniture package" for your new property and, or wanting to refurnish your apartment. Riviera del Sol, Costa del Sol, Spain sits on the coast midway between Marbella and Fuengirola. Riviera del Sol  is situated only a few minutes from the new AP 7 motorway access, and the national coast road the A7 (formerly the N-340), allowing access to Malaga airport in 25 minutes. Riviera del Sol runs down to the beach and is adjacent to Calahonda.
 Riviera del Sol is a mixed residential and holiday area enjoying every facility and services needed to enjoy life comfortably. Banks, restaurants, shops, supermarket, chemist and a health centre are all to hand.

Riviera del Sol has its own golf course, golf school tennis club, lawn bowls and numerous golf courses and many other sports facilities are within 10 minutes drive.

Bus routes lead to all areas and there are bus stops either side of the A7 (N340) main road going to Marbella and to Fuengirola. The new Costa del Sol Hospital is 10 minutes drive away.
Nearby Puerto Cabopino provides mooring for boats and all water sports, as well as a lovely beach. 

The quickest way to get to Riviera del Sol from Malaga Airport is to keep in the inside lane when leaving the airport and look for the AP 7 Autovia sign (see map) heading south. Go up the slip road and join the Autovia and travel down it for approx. 20 mins. After passing the signs for Fuengirola you will see a signpost for Calahonda, take this slip road off the motorway and after 200 mtrs you will come to a tollbooth, where you will have to pay 2 - 3 euros to get through (the cost depends upon the time of year you are visiting). Approx 100 metres from the tollbooth you come to a small roundabout, go all the way around this as if you are heading back to the tollroad and you will see a narrow concrete road on your right-hand side, with a 30 km speed sign on it. Take this road off, but be careful as it is only one car's width, and follow the road all the way around and you will come to the very top of the Avenida Esmeralda, which leads onto the main road in Riviera - Avenida del Golf.

If you have missed this "shortcut" then follow the road down from the tollbooth roundabout for approx 2 kms until you come to a roundabout in the middle of Calahonda (the one with the Calahonda sign on it) and go all the way around then down the hill to the underpass next to the El Zoco Centre. This road then leads you onto the N340 coast road and the Riviera turnoff is approx 300 mtrs along. Once you have used this route you will understand how easy it is!

If you are unsure about using the Autovia then just travel along the A7 (N340) but it will take you through parts ot Torremolinos, Benelmadena and the back of Fuengirola and take up to twice as long, perhaps even longer in the height of summer. Its your choice.
